Ata Health evaluated an eight-month pilot Community of Practice led by the Columbia University Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education to strengthen ongoing capacity-building and peer exchange among graduates of its Climate and Health Educators training program in Africa. The initiative aimed to reinforce educator competencies, foster regional collaboration, and support the integration of climate and health content into academic and professional training programs. Ata Health designed the monitoring and evaluation framework, developed study instruments, and implemented a mixed-methods evaluation to assess participant engagement, knowledge application, and program impact. We produced analytical reports that program leaders used to refine the model and demonstrate effectiveness in support of expansion to additional regions. Ata Health also developed a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Consortium’s small grants program and delivered training to participants on effective M&E design, strengthening institutional capacity for sustained impact.
