Ata Health partnered with the Alliance for Health Systems and Policy Research (the Alliance) to produce a robust literature review of health systems factors that influenced NPHA performance in health emergency preparedness and response. The study examined health systems factors categorized by the traditional WHO ‘building blocks’ of leadership/governance, health information systems; medicines, supplies and vaccines; health workforce, health finance, and service delivery. The organizational structure of the NPHA- in particular its location inside or outside the MOH- was a special focus. Findings were presented at a global meeting of NPHAs to inform future research and the report is being further developed in a peer review manuscript.
